Do I need a card to start?
Not for the free plan. It has no card on file and no trial to end, so it does not expire.
Can I change plans later?
Any time, in both directions. Upgrading takes effect immediately and the new allowance is there straight away.
What happens when I run out?
Nothing is deleted and nothing is locked. You keep every thread you have already run, and the next top-up brings the allowance back.
